Shelby is a 14-year old girl who has a big crush on Tobey Maguire. So, she kidnaps him and locks him up in her basement to marry him. She hopes he will eventually fall in love with her due to the Stockholm Syndrome. He finds a copy of Kidnapping for Dummies and searches the book for a way to escape. 

Samantha Hurley has written an absolutely hilarious play full of 90s nostalgia. It’s an expertly crafted farce.

Alex O’Shea is magnificent as Shelby. She shows such great enthusiasm for having captured Tobey and making her dreams come true. Jasper Johnson (Veal) is great as Maguire, who can’t believe this situation isn’t just a bad trip. Felix (Understudy) is superb as Shelby’s Mom, Real Estate Agent, and more. They provide so many laughs in their many roles.

Overall, it’s a very professional production that makes for a very fun evening.
