A female journalist is investigating a 20-million-ruble ($240K USD) tax refund to an American. She suspects corruption that goes all the way up to Vladimir Putin. Her editor considers going from working with her to taking a job at a state run news station.

Erika Sheffer has written a thrilling political play. The audience is at the edge of their seats watching to see what choices the characters will make. Will they share the truth or keep it hidden to protect themselves and their family?

Rebecca Jordan is excellent as the journalist, who is not afraid to stand up to power. Adam Schulmerich is great as her editor, who isn’t as strong in his convictions. Steve Peebles is stellar as the KGB guy making threats and saying it’s not a threat. Tristan Odenkirk is superb as the journalist’s source who takes big risks. Drew Schad is solid as the corrupt boss of the source. Isabel Alamin, Kseniya Janyan, Juliana Liscio, Laila Malak, Tristan Odenkirk and Ben Perry are all very good in their supporting roles.

Overall, it’s a gripping production that will have the audience wondering if it is based on a true story (The characters are fictional, but the story is based on events that have happened) and if the same things could happen here in the US.
